About Mid Ribble Angling Society

Mid Ribble Angling Society is a long-established game fishing club that controls over six miles of salmon, sea trout and brown trout fishing on the River Ribble and its two major tributaries, the Hodder and the Calder. It began as the Padiham and District Angling Society in the late 1930s and took its present name in 1998. Its waters are varied: the Ribble is wide with big pools, the Hodder is smaller and is where you would expect sea trout, and the Calder has become a trout fishery with a growing run of sea trout. The society also has a short stretch at Long Preston, which is not listed here. It does a limited amount of trout stocking in the Ribble.
