Lune Rivers Trust

The Trust manages three fishing beats at the bottom of the River Lune near Lancaster, Halton Top, Halton Lower and Skerton. The beats are owned by the Environment Agency, which assigns the fees from the permits to the Trust in return for managing them. Apart from a small admin fee for the online booking platform, the Trust says the fees are used exclusively on its activities that directly benefit the angling community. Permits are booked by the day on the Trust’s iBookfishing calendar, which shows how many are available on each date. The beats fish for salmon, sea trout and brown trout, with coarse fishing on all three, and an annual coarse permit covering the three beats costs £50. The Trust asks every angler on the Lune system to submit a catch return.
