About Ribchester & District Angling Club
Ribchester & District Angling Club is a river club based in Ribchester, with its headquarters at the Ribchester Sports & Social Club. It holds water on the River Ribble at Ribchester and at Dinckley, on the River Calder at Whalley, on several other rivers and stillwaters, and has exchange tickets on further waters. The club describes its Ribble water at Ribchester as holding salmon, sea trout, brown trout and grayling as well as barbel, chub and dace, so it is a mixed club rather than a game-only one.
Membership is kept to about 500 members. Offers are only made in the first few months of the year, once the club knows how many places are free, and priority goes to people living within three miles of Ribchester. The committee can refuse an application. To apply, download the application form from the club’s membership page and post it to the Membership Secretary, because applications by email are not accepted. For 2026 the club lists a joining fee of £100, then £150 a year for senior members, £100 for disabled members with proof, and £20 for juniors. Members can have one guest ticket a year.
Visitors can buy a day ticket for the Village Front stretch of the Ribble at Ribchester, listed separately. Day tickets are sold for cash at the SPAR shop in the village.
