About River Ribble, Ribchester, Ribchester & District Angling Club water
This is Ribchester & District Angling Club’s members’ water on the River Ribble at Ribchester: about two kilometres of single bank fishing from the village down to Red Bank. The club lists the fish as barbel, chub, dace, eel, salmon, trout, sea trout and grayling, so this is mixed fishing and not a game-only beat.
The club’s page marks the beat’s upstream and downstream limits and its main entry point with grid references. There is room to park within about 100 metres of the river, but the way to the bank crosses muddy and rutted fields. Near the sewage works some electrical power cables cross low over the river, and fishing is forbidden between the warning signs.
The water is for members of the club. Membership is capped at about 500, offers are made in the first few months of the year, and applications are posted on the form on the club’s membership page.
