About River Ribble, Ribchester Village Front day ticket
This is the Village Front day ticket water on the River Ribble in the middle of Ribchester, sold to visitors by Ribchester & District Angling Club. It is about 350 yards of river known as the Tush Pool and Village Front stretch. The club’s information sheet puts the upstream limit at a concrete ‘tush’ at the top of the allotments and the downstream limit at rocks upstream of the farm, roughly in line with St Wilfrid’s Church.
The club describes it as good fishing for coarse and game species, with barbel, chub and pike caught regularly by coarse anglers and sea trout by game anglers. There are two kinds of ticket. The club lists adult salmon and sea trout at £12 a day and adult coarse and trout at £8 a day, with juniors under 14 at 50p for coarse and non-migratory trout.
Tickets are sold for cash at the SPAR shop in the village, opposite the Black Bull, and must be bought before you fish, not on the bank. A ticket runs from midnight to midnight. Because the stretch is in the middle of the village, the club asks anglers to keep noise down and to take all litter, especially line and hooks, home.
