About Dorset Arms Angling Club
Dorset Arms Angling Club is a small, friendly fishing club on the border of East Sussex and Kent, offering stillwaters, rivers and streams in both counties. Some waters it manages itself and others come through alliances with local associations and fishery owners. It says it appeals to the all-round pleasure angler, with carp waters that do not dominate and friendly matches.
This listing covers its small river and stream fishing: two stretches of the upper Medway at Hartfield and Withyham, and two stretches of the Eridge Stream, a Medway tributary, between Ham Bridge and Corseley Road. The club names chub, dace, grayling and roach on these waters, with trout and perch to fly and spinning tactics. It holds a special bait dispensation on its Medway and Eridge Stream stretches, so fishing for trout is allowed during the coarse close season with natural baits and no soft lures.
Membership for 2026 to 2027 is £48 for adults, £35 for seniors aged 65 and over, £15 for ages 16 and 17, and free for under 16s, with no joining fee. Memberships, new and renewals, are bought online through Clubmate. Each member gets one free guest day ticket a season, booked on Clubmate; later tickets are £10 for adults and seniors and £5 for ages 16 and 17, free for under 15s, and guests must be accompanied by an adult club member.
