About Hastings Fly Fishers Club
Hastings Fly Fishers Club was formed in 1932, when Powdermill Reservoir was finished, by a small group of local anglers, and it has leased the fishing there ever since. It describes itself as one of England’s oldest fly fishing clubs and keeps to traditional fly fishing: it does not allow snakes, boobies or lures longer than 3 inches.
Members pay £635 a year, or £610 for shareholders. Membership brings unlimited fishing days with a daily limit of 6 fish, fishing from the dam and bank from 6.30am, discounted boat and outboard hire, complimentary guest passes each season and a junior who may accompany you as often as you like. To ask about becoming a member or shareholder, email or ring the club.
Anglers who are not members can buy a day ticket. A standard day is £60 for 6 fish, a peak season day is £80 for 6 fish and a half day is £40 for 3 fish. A junior ticket, for 17 and under with a fishing adult, is £30 for 3 fish, and an adult and junior combined day is £75 for 8 fish. Fishing starts at 8.30am. Boats are £10 for a day or £7 for a half day, and an electric outboard is £5 or £3 for visitors. The club office is staffed on weekday mornings.
