About Petworth and Bognor Angling Club
Petworth and Bognor Angling Club was formed in 2007 by the merger of the Petworth Angling Club and the Bognor Regis and District Freshwater Angling Club. It is a coarse fishing club first, with rivers, lakes, ponds and a canal in West Sussex and an exchange scheme with more than 20 other waters. This listing covers only its Western Rother stretches between Petworth and Fittleworth, which the club says also hold brown trout and a good run of sea trout most years. Its overview page says game fishing is allowed on some stretches of its rivers with the appropriate Environment Agency licence.
Membership is for members only and the club limits numbers to protect its waters from over fishing. It keeps a referral list: you ask to be put on it through the contact form on the club’s website, and the club gets in touch shortly before memberships open for the next season to send an application pack. The club’s site does not publish its fees.
