About the River Dulas Brook (Dore)
Dulas is a common name for streams in Wales and the borders, from the Welsh for dark blue, and this Dulas Brook is the one in the south west of Herefordshire, in the parish of Dulas, about 11 miles south west of Hereford. It is a tributary of the River Dore, and it is not one of the other Dulas streams.
It is a small stream, home to otters and white-clawed crayfish. It is also small stream fishing for wild brown trout, with a run of promising lies, some of them surprisingly deep for such a little water.
The Wye and Usk Foundation’s Fishing Passport has a fly only, catch and release beat on the Dulas, of just under a mile. Other stretches are held by their riverside owners.
