About River Hodder, Plantation Farm, Chaigley
Plantation Farm is a one mile stretch of the River Hodder at Chaigley, one of the beats of the Lancashire Fly Fishing Association. The association offers fly fishing and spinning for salmon, and fly fishing for sea trout and brown trout, with grayling of over 2lb recorded in the past. It says this has probably been its most prolific salmon water, and that the opposite bank is not fished. Barbless hooks only, and no loose feeding.
It is a members only beat. The association limits membership to 118 so email the secretary to ask about joining. The club’s website marks the upper and lower limits on a members map but does not describe them, so the position shown here is approximate.
