About Lakedown Lakes
Lakedown is four spring fed lakes totalling approximately 20 acres in a secluded Wealden valley at Burwash, with views and no visible sign of habitation. The lakes hold rainbow and brown trout, and the fishery mentions wild browns in Lake 1 that are far smaller than the stocked fish.
Tickets are for 2 fish at £40, a half day ticket in April, May, June, September and October, or 3 fish at £50, 4 fish at £60 or 5 fish at £70. Under 18s, aged 9 to 17, pay £35 for 2 fish or can share the fish on an adult’s 5 fish ticket. Book online or by telephone before you arrive, and bring cash or a cheque for on site payment. Once your limit is reached you stop fishing until you buy another ticket.
Fishing is with a single fly, maximum size 10. There is no catch and release, except for wild brown trout in Lake 1. The fishery is open from Wednesday to Sunday, with the last cast at 7pm in the longer days, and open on bank holidays. It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
