About Lyepole

Lyepole is a mile of double bank on the River Lugg, a few miles upstream of Aymestrey. The river runs through a quiet, steep sided valley and keeps a very private feel, which suits one or two anglers after trout and grayling. On a small to medium river with a gravel and silt bed, wading, when it is permitted, is relatively easy. A private holiday cottage next to the beat keeps the right to fish one rod and to use the river, particularly in summer, and the fishing may then be limited to certain areas.
