About Brick Farm Lakes
Brick Farm Lakes is four lakes totalling around 6 acres at Herstmonceux in East Sussex. Well Lake is the top lake, spring fed, deep and fairly clear, and it feeds Stag Lake, which has clear water and nothing behind to catch your fly. Spring Lake is the newest, with clear water and depths to 22ft, and Brick Lake is the original, with varied depths. The fishery stocks rainbow, brown and sparctic trout from around 2lb to over 12lb, and gives the record since its ownership as 13lb 14oz.
Tickets are for 2 fish at £40, 3 fish at £48 or 4 fish at £55, valid all day, with additional fish at £14 each. One junior under 16 can share a guardian’s 4 fish ticket. Check the prices when you book. Buy your ticket in the lodge before you start fishing.
Fishing is fly only, with a minimum tippet of 6lb and no more than three flies, and droppers are allowed. There is no catch and release and no wading. The usual hours are 8am to 5.30pm or sunset, whichever is earlier, with an earlier last cast in winter.
