About The Foy Fishery
The Foy Fishery joins Foy Bridge and The Creel, and salmon anglers can book it as one beat from 15 March to 15 June inclusive. Outside those dates they must fish only the one of the two beats they are booked on. It is just over a mile of double bank on the Wye with named salmon pools including the Bridge Pool, The Run, Lyndor Pool, The Pulpit and Church Stream.
The pools are good fly water in medium flows, and other areas of the beat can be fished with a spinner. Some of the fishing needs wading, which is relatively easy over gravel but needs care in medium flows and above, and the Passport recommends a wading stick. The beat has been lightly fished for salmon in recent years despite being in a productive section of the river, especially for spring fishing.
All species are catch and release, dogs are not allowed, and the beat has a wash-off policy. A salmon day ticket costs £37, with up to three tickets a day, and a block booking is £111. It is booked through the Fishing Passport.
