About Middle Ballingham and Fownhope No. 8

Middle Ballingham and Fownhope No. 8 is two thirds of a mile of double bank on the Wye a few miles downstream of Hereford. It is a secluded stretch with some excellent salmon fishing, and the Passport also lists coarse fishing. Wadable, streamy water and gentle glides over gravel at the top end lead to deep, slow pools, so the beat has sections for several methods, including trotting for dace and chub. The slow, deeper sections are likely winter pike spots.
