About River Wye, Old Harp Fishery, Hoarwithy
This is the Old Harp Fishery stretch of the River Wye at Hoarwithy, about 0.75 miles with double and single bank fishing above and below Hoarwithy Bridge. The fishery does not say where the stretch starts and finishes.
Salmon fishing is by day rod, booked through the fishery. The page describes good wading fly water with deeper sections and pools, and says the water suits keen and experienced salmon anglers. The beat has been fished only sporadically for salmon in recent times, so the fishery says its occasional recorded fish do not show what the water can do. Fly only pike fishing is offered from 1 October to 1 February, limited to two anglers.
The fishery also sells coarse fishing, mainly barbel, chub and dace, and limits the water to five rods at any one time with one rod per angler. Children under 16 fish free with a paying adult. Booking is by email to the owner, and a map and directions are sent with the booking. Ask for current day rates.
