Double bank

Berrio Mill is 650 metres of left bank on the River Lynher, with riffle and run sections, pocket water and the occasional deep pool. It is compact, but it has five quality holding pools and the chance of sea trout and salmon throughout the season. Brown trout are present all year, with the best fishing usually from May to July and again in September.

The water is usually crystal clear, which makes it ideal for dry fly sight fishing, but it colours quickly after rain, and then the Passport recommends a duo or euro nymph set up. The trout are easily spooked, so approach carefully. There is a fenced path along the beat, and the Passport describes it as a beautiful place to spend a relaxed afternoon on the water.

Fly, spinner and worm are allowed, with worm only between 16 June and 31 August. Dogs are not allowed. A day costs 2 Fish Pass tokens, booked through the Westcountry Angling Passport.
