About Aberdare and District Angling Association
Aberdare and District Angling Association was formed in 1954 and describes itself as a friendly club open to anglers of all abilities. It runs Nant Moel Reservoir, a fly only water of over 12 acres at the top of the Cynon valley, between Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil, and also sells river only permits. Its Cynon water at Ynysllwyd in Aberdare is sold as day tickets through the Fishing Passport.
The club offers full, family, disabled and junior membership, half season tickets from 1 August and day permits for the reservoir. Annual and day permits are sold at Hirwaun Post Office, and day permits can also be bought online. The club’s pages list the 2025 to 2026 prices, a season that ended on 31 January 2026, so none are quoted here. A rod licence is advised on club waters.
