About Aberaeron Town Angling Club
Aberaeron Town Angling Club has fished the lower River Aeron since 1931. It manages about 2 miles of mostly double bank fishing from the tidal limit inland, through the town of Aberaeron, which it describes as some of the most easily reached sewin fishing in Wales. The club also holds rights on two small sections of the Teifi above Lampeter and on a stretch of the nearby Afon Arth, and runs a lake programme of reservoir social days, four competitions a year fished from boats and an away trip.
River day permits are sold on the club’s website from 1 April to 17 October, and the club’s rules say a day permit holder may fish all club waters. In 2026 a day ticket is £20 with no concessions. Membership is also sold on the website: £55 for an adult, £30 for over 65s, disabled and unemployed anglers, and £10 for juniors, with under 12s free when accompanied by an adult member. The club’s rules reserve full membership for people living within two miles of the County Hall in Aberaeron, with exceptions for earlier members and natives of the town, so ask the club if you live further away.
The Aeron is a spate river and its level can change quickly after rain; the club publishes a live level chart on its site.
