Crowdy Reservoir is a 115 acre water on the northern tip of Bodmin Moor, a few miles from Camelford and inside a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is a quiet spot with moorland views and a good deal of wildlife, including wildfowl and, in some years, starling murmurations at a nearby roost.

The fishing is free. Anyone with a current Environment Agency rod licence can fish for wild brown trout from the bank, with no ticket needed. The reservoir is not stocked, but South West Lakes Trust says it has a good natural head of brown trout, with some fish recorded to 4lb. Fly, spinning and bait are all allowed. Catch and release is preferred, using barbless hooks, otherwise up to four fish over 10 inches may be taken in a day.

There is a car park, and a walk from it across to the bird hide along the north bank. Apart from free trout fishing there are no activities at Crowdy, to protect the habitat.
