About Teise Anglers and Conservation Society
Teise Anglers and Conservation Society is a non-profit fly fishing club, founded just after the Second World War. It controls more than seven miles of the River Teise in the Kent Weald between Goudhurst, Marden and Collier Street, and looks after a stocked reservoir at Marden Beech.
The river holds native brown trout, regularly stocked brown and rainbow trout and a breeding head of grayling. The trout season runs from 3 April to 31 October, the reservoir is open all year, and winter fishing is for members who pay an extra £50.
It is a members’ club and membership is deliberately limited, so the river does not get crowded. A place comes up when a member leaves. When none is free, new applicants join a first come, first served waiting list, and the committee may interview you before offering a place. For the 2026 season the subscription is £370, junior membership (up to age 18) is £55. A member can buy a guest ticket for £30, valid on the river and the reservoir.
