Fishing methods
This is the Liskeard & District Angling Club’s water on the River Seaton at Hessenford, in south-east Cornwall. The club lists two beats, both numbered 21: Hessenford on the right bank and Deptford Wood on the left. This listing covers them together.
The club groups the Seaton with the Fowey and the Looe rivers on its Our Waters page and gives that group a salmon season of 1 April to 30 November and a sea trout season of 1 April to 30 September, with conservation limits in force. Up to two sea trout may be taken in 24 hours, four in a week and ten in a season. Sea trout under 35cm and over 55cm go back. The club’s page sets out the salmon rules for the group, so check it before you fish.
Fly, spinning and bait are all allowed, with the limits set out in the rules. Members fish on their membership, and visitors can buy a day or week ticket on the club’s website.
