About Liskeard & District Angling Club
Liskeard & District Angling Club was founded in 1950 and calls itself the oldest angling club in Cornwall. It fishes for salmon and sea trout across south-east Cornwall: the River Fowey and the Looe and Seaton rivers that the club groups with it, the Lynher and the Inny. It also has a beat on the Camel at Wenford Bridge, which it says it shares with the Wadebridge anglers.
Membership is limited to 250. The club says its waiting list is open for new applicants, and its FAQ adds that there are usually places at the start of the year, because some members join for the second half of the season, when the salmon fishing picks up. For 2026 an adult or over 65 pays £117.50 and a registered disabled member £102.50, with a £25 joining fee for new members. A junior up to 17 pays £27.50, and a new junior pays nothing in the first year. Membership runs from 1 January to 31 December.
Visitors can buy day and week tickets online until 30 November each year. A ticket holder becomes a temporary member of the club for the length of the permit and has to follow its rules. The ticket prices are shown in the club’s online shop, so check them there before you plan a trip.
