Tenterden Trout Waters has three lakes totalling 5.5 acres at Coombe Farm, stocked regularly with rainbow, blue and brown trout from 3lb up to 12lb. The fishery says floating and intermediate lines work best, with sinking lines useful for the deeper areas, and names gold head patterns, damsels, buzzers, Diawl Bach and Coopers Yellow among the popular flies.

Large retainer baskets are placed around the banks. You can put fish in a basket and choose the ones you want to take home at the end of the session, with everything else returned to the lake, or you can return fish straight away. A permit allows a maximum of 10 fish caught. Barbless hooks are requested when fishing on a catch and release permit.

The fishery is open 8.30am to sunset, seven days a week, and takes cash only. Its own site gives no permit prices, so ask when you book.
