About Darent Valley Trout Fishers
Darent Valley Trout Fishers (DVTF) is a friendly, traditional chalk stream fly fishing club, founded in 1954 by a group of local fly fishers. It leases some 5 km (about 3 miles) of the River Darent between Shoreham and Farningham. The club stocks mostly brown trout, with rainbows on a few beats, and works with the Wild Trout Trust, the South East Rivers Trust and others towards a self-sustaining wild brown trout population.
Membership is capped at 55 and the waiting list is full. The club says it is not taking applications until next season, so you cannot join at the moment. When it reopens, the application form is on the club’s website. For 2026 the subscription was £400 with a one-off joining fee of £400. Members take part in three working parties on the river each year, and can bring a guest on a paid guest permit; the club does not publish that price. The website gives no email address or phone number.
