About Kingfisher Angling & Preservation Society, Trout Section
The Trout Section of Kingfisher Angling & Preservation Society was formed in 1954 and fishes fly only, on a lake of about 14 acres and on the River Darent, both in the grounds of Lullingstone Castle at Eynsford. The society also has a coarse section, which this listing does not cover.
The lake season runs from 15 March to 31 December and the river season from 1 April to 30 September. The lake is stocked with rainbow trout, typically around 1.25 lb with the odd larger fish, and most fishing is from boats the society provides for members, with some bank fishing too. The Darent is stocked with brown trout, and catch and release is the rule on the river.
It is members’ water. For 2026, trout membership is £450 a year plus a £250 joining fee, and it includes a base membership of the coarse section. Trout membership is limited and there is sometimes a waiting list. The society says to ask to join the list through the contact form on its website, which has no email address or phone number. A member can bring one guest at a time on a guest ticket (£25 for 2026, up to six a season), bought before fishing.
