About Norfolk and Suffolk Flyfishers’ Society
Norfolk and Suffolk Flyfishers’ Society was formed in 1974 to encourage fly fishing in Norfolk and Suffolk. It runs two spring fed trout lakes at East Tuddenham, near Dereham, about six acres between them and stocked with rainbow trout.
Non-members are welcome. A day permit costs £30 for up to three trout, bought at the lakes with no need to book, or booked and paid for online. There is no catch and release. Annual membership is £70, which brings the three fish day permit down to £25 and opens up books of day permits at a further discount. Junior membership is free, and junior members pay £10 for a three fish day permit. Members can also take a full rod permit (40 visits a year, £540), a half rod (20 visits, £318) or a quarter rod (10 visits, £220).
The society also runs Try the Fly introductory days, led by a qualified APGAI instructor. They cover tuition, tackle, flies, a one day licence and a buffet or barbecue, with the chance to take home two trout. The day normally runs from 10am to 3pm, numbers are limited to 12 anglers, and it costs £30 for adults and £10 for under 18s.
