About Derbyshire County Angling Club
Derbyshire County Angling Club holds three miles of the River Dove at Wolfscote Dale, along with six miles of its tributary the River Manifold. Both are managed as wild fisheries rather than stocked put-and-take water, and the club’s own description of the Dove stretch is understated: three miles of river, made famous by Izaak Walton, holding brown trout and grayling.
Fly only is the rule and the stretch is not open to coarse anglers. Membership costs £370 a year with a £380 joining fee on top, and that covers both rivers. There are no day tickets on the Dove water, so membership is the only way to fish it.
Wolfscote Dale is limestone-dale fishing and sits among the most highly regarded wild trout and grayling water on the river. The rules and the fee both reflect that.
