About Errwood Fly Fishing Club

Errwood Fly Fishing Club was founded in 1970, soon after the Errwood dam was completed, and runs the fishing on Errwood Reservoir in the Goyt Valley near Buxton. Since 2016, members have also been able to fish the neighbouring Fernilee Reservoir, a wild, spinning-only water kept for members alone.

Membership at Errwood currently has a waiting list. Anyone wanting to join downloads the membership application form from the club’s website and sends it to the Honorary Secretary. Non-members do not need to wait, though: the club sells day tickets covering three fish to keep, or unlimited catch and release, from sunrise to sunset. Tickets are bought online through the Catch app or from one of six tackle shops around Buxton and Stockport.

The committee is run by volunteers, and news for members goes out through a WhatsApp group rather than a newsletter. Anyone with a question about membership, day tickets or the water itself can reach the club by email.
