About Ilkley Angling Association
Ilkley Angling Association was formed in the 1920s, with roots in the Ilkley Angling Club of 1887, and for the past hundred years has controlled the angling rights on the River Wharfe as it flows through Ilkley. It also runs two coarse ponds. Members can fish a number of other game and coarse waters in West and North Yorkshire through partnerships with Knaresborough Piscatorials, Wetherby and District Angling Club and Skipton Angling Association.
Visitors and Ilkley residents can buy a day ticket for the association’s waters on any day of the week, online or from the Riverside Hotel, the visitor information office at Ilkley Town Hall or Otley Angling Centre. Adult membership is £72 a year with no joining fee, with lower rates for senior citizens, juniors and anglers on an invalidity rod licence, and a grayling season permit from 1 October to 14 March. The club asks every angler, members and day ticket holders alike, to send in a catch return.
