About Skipton Angling Association
Skipton Angling Association runs the fishing on Embsay Reservoir, a stocked trout water near Skipton in the Yorkshire Dales, alongside several other waters around the town including Whinny Gill, a stretch of the River Aire and a length of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
Membership is open to new anglers directly, with adult, OAP, junior and disabled rates for all the club’s waters or a cheaper limited-waters option. Anyone who would rather not join can still fish Embsay on a day ticket, bought online through the club’s own store or from one of several outlets around Embsay, Earby, Skipton and Keighley.
The club is run by volunteers, with a committee covering membership, bailiffing and conservation. Questions about membership or day tickets go to the Membership Secretary by email.
How fishing here works
Anyone can join. There is no waiting list, and membership is usually bought straight from the club.
Non-members can buy a ticket for a single day, sold alongside membership.
