About Avington Estate

Avington Estate sits on the Kennet near Hungerford in Berkshire. Its fishery, which now takes in the neighbouring Denford Fishery, covers about six miles of double and single bank fishing on the middle Kennet and its tributaries. It is predominantly a game fishery, with water for anglers of every level of experience and what the estate calls a spectacular mayfly hatch.

The fishing is sold as season rods, and a rod covers every beat on both the Avington and Denford fisheries. A full rod fishes Tuesday to Sunday, a weekday rod Tuesday to Friday, and a weekend rod from Friday afternoon to Sunday. Rods become available from time to time rather than being on general sale, and the season runs from 1 April to 30 September.

On a limited number of Mondays in the season the estate also takes group bookings and corporate days, for groups of up to twelve or more by arrangement. Groups have the fishing hut to themselves for lunch, basic kit can be provided, and guides can be arranged for tuition. For a season rod or a group day, contact the estate office.

02Does Avington Estate offer accommodation?
