About Dart Angling Association
The Dart Angling Association was formed in 1895 to provide affordable fishing for its members and visitors alike, and it still does. It has salmon, sea trout and brown trout fishing on some nine miles of the River Dart, a mixture of single and double bank. Members also fish the Duchy of Cornwall’s fishery on the East and West Dart on Dartmoor, which is included with membership.
There are up to 120 ordinary members, in three classes: brown trout only, sea trout and brown trout, or salmon, sea trout and brown trout. In June 2026 the association said there was no waiting list, with season tickets at £150, £230 and £300 by class and juniors under 18 at £15. New members apply on a form, and if you have no proposer a short paragraph about yourself and your fishing will do.
Visitors can buy day and week tickets through the association’s Clubmate booking page. Two waters are listed here: the Church Commissioners water and Totnes Weir Pool.
How fishing here works
Anyone can join. There is no waiting list, and membership is usually bought straight from the club.
Non-members can buy a ticket for a single day, sold alongside membership.
A member can bring a guest fishing, usually capped at a set number of days a season.
