Fishing methods
Totnes Weir Pool, at the weir in Totnes, is part of the Dart Angling Association’s water, and visitors can fish it on its own day ticket for salmon and sea trout.
The ticket costs £35 a day. Only one salmon ticket is sold each day, for fishing from sunrise until an hour after sunset within the salmon season set by the Environment Agency, which is currently 1 February to 30 September. Only one migratory trout ticket is sold each day, for the hours from sunset to 3am between 15 March and 30 September. The association says the pool is best fished about three hours either side of low tide.
Tickets are bought online through the association’s Clubmate page. Migratory trout fishing is fly only, and a catch return is asked for after your day.
