About Butterwell Farm

Butterwell Farm is a private riverside estate of about 40 acres at Nanstallon, near Bodmin, in the Camel Valley. It lets four holiday cottages and runs a sea trout and salmon fishery on its stretch of the River Camel, about a mile above the tidal reaches.

The fishing is about half a mile of double bank and half a mile of single bank, with 18 holding pools, and the estate takes a maximum of four rods, with a fifth in the salmon season if conditions allow. Day and weekly tickets are available, for salmon and sea trout and for wild brown trout. The estate says fishing must be booked with the owners directly, that it gives priority to guests staying in its cottages, and that it cannot be booked online. It also offers guiding and tuition.

To book, ring or email the estate using the details on its website.
