Fishing methods
Fly methods
Longstock Park Lake is the second of Leckford Estate’s two stillwaters, a secluded pool created from an old peat-digging site and stocked with rainbow and brown trout. A lodge overlooks the water with a full kitchen, toilet and seating for twenty, making it a popular choice for family days and corporate groups as well as a quiet day’s fishing.
Like Testside Lake nearby, it fishes all year round rather than keeping to the river’s May-to-October season. There’s no catch and release here either: trout over 13 inches are kept until the daily bag limit of five is reached, or eight on a two-rod guest ticket. Fishing is fly only and from the bank.
A day ticket starts from £80, with a half-day option too. Book online through Leckford’s own system, or call the fishing office on 01264 812110 to arrange a visit.

For much of its length the Test is not one river but an amalgam of main channel, mill leats, carriers,…
