About Maran Lakes

Maran Lakes is a fly fishery of four lakes at the Marston Wyse Trout Farm on Wetherby Road, Long Marston, near York. The lakes are open every day of the year from dawn to dusk, with no need to book, and fishing is fly only.

They hold rainbow, brown, blue and tiger trout and Arctic char. Sporting tickets are catch and release, from £15 for four hours to £30 for the full day, with £4 off for juniors aged 16 and under. Catch and take tickets run from £25 for four hours with one fish to £45 for the full day with four, and you can carry on catch and release once you reach your limit.

Browns, tigers and Arctic char must be returned, and so must any trout over 5lb. Every angler needs a landing net, hooks are de-barbed, and boobies, tandems and snakes over 50mm are not allowed.
