Broad Oak Trout Lakes at Hanley Castle has two spring-fed lakes on a 16-acre site. Oak Tree Lake is three acres and Acorn Lake one acre. Both reach 15 feet, have mostly level grassed banks with room for a back cast, and were dug by the owners, so there are no hidden stumps or snags. The owners say the lakes hold plenty of insect life.

Rainbow, blue, brown and tiger trout are stocked from Torre Trout Farms. Rainbow and blue trout must be kept; brown and tiger trout must be returned without handling. Fly fishing only, single fly, barbless hooks to size 10, and no boobies, blobs, egg flies, bite indicators or floats.

Tickets are paid for at the house, cash only, and you stop at the fish limit or the time limit, whichever comes first. Only anglers are allowed around the lakes: no family, spectators, dogs or picnics.
