Dikler at Abbotswood (lower) is one of the Cotswold Flyfishers’ two beats on the River Dikler at Abbotswood, near Upper Swell. The Dikler is a spring-fed wild trout stream. It rises above Donnington Brewery, runs through Upper and Lower Swell and joins the Windrush just below Bourton-on-the-Water. Fly life is excellent, and the club describes great dry fly fishing for beautifully marked, free-rising wild trout on its two beats above and below Upper Swell.
Cotswold Flyfishers water is for members only. The club does not issue day tickets or temporary memberships, and full membership was £660 for the 2026 season plus a non-returnable £187 registration fee. All the club’s wild trout waters are fished catch and release with barbless hooks. If you are thinking of joining, the club’s endorsed guides run taster days on some of its waters.
