About Cotswold Flyfishers

Cotswold Flyfishers is a members’ club fishing the River Kennet and the River Test, part of a wider portfolio that runs to more than thirty miles of Cotswold rivers. On the Kennet the club holds two estates between Kintbury and Marlborough, with wild brown trout among them the local Kennet greenback strain, plus grayling and some stocked brown and rainbow trout. One of the two is at Axford, reached down Stone Lane from the village, with about a mile of single and double bank fishing. On the Test the club fishes one of five rotating beats on the Broadlands Estate, one day a week, run mainly as a stocked brown trout water with a sea trout possible late in the summer. Beyond the Kennet and the Test, the club also holds water on the Ampney Brook, the Avon, the Churn, the Coln, the Dikler, the Glyme, the Leach and the Windrush, and on Sherborne Brook, plus two stillwaters at Cornbury Park and Salford Lakes.

The club does not issue day tickets or temporary memberships. All fishing is through full membership, and rules are set per beat rather than as one code across every river; the Test day is dry fly and nymph.

Full membership costs £660 a year for the 2026 season, with a one-off £187 registration fee. Cadet and senior rates are available for younger and older members at lower cost. Membership is capped and applications for 2026 close at the end of February; contact the club through its website for current availability and waiting times.

Full membership is capped, and new applications close at the end of February each year for the coming season. Earlier information suggests a one to two year wait for a place, but this was not reconfirmed on the current site.
