Kingfisher Lake is the first of Mill Farm Trout Lakes’ two lakes on Southcross Lane at Worton, near Devizes in Wiltshire, about five miles south of the town between Worton and Great Cheverell. It is stocked daily with trout from two pounds to double figures, and fished catch and take home: floating line only, a single fly.

Tickets are sold by the number of fish. A half day of five hours takes two fish for £38, a full day takes three fish for £45, four for £50 or five for £55, and a two hour evening ticket before closing takes one fish for £20. A junior day ticket for under sixteens is also £20 for one fish. Season tickets run four, six, nine or twelve months, by total fish for the period, and a four month adult and child ticket covers two anglers sharing twenty fish. Every Kingfisher ticket, day or season, also includes catch and release fishing on Swallow Lake next door.

The lake is open all year except August, eight in the morning to five in the afternoon, seven days a week. Rod and tackle hire is £15 a day from the on site tackle shop, which also sells hot pies, drinks and confectionery, and fly casting instruction can be arranged with Paddy Warke. Payment is cash, cheque or BACS only, cards are not accepted.
