Double bank

Wampford Bridge is an 800 metre, single bank beat on the River Mole in North Devon, open for brown trout and sea trout. It has riffles, runs and deeper pools, with trout chances throughout the season and the best fishing usually in late spring and early autumn.

The water is clear, which suits sight fishing with dry flies, and the fish are easily spooked, so approach with care. After rain it may colour, when nymphing with a duo or euro rig can work.

Fly only, and all fish are returned. There are several stiles and ladders along the bank, some needing attention, so test them before you climb. A day costs 4 Fish Pass tokens, booked through the Westcountry Angling Passport.
