About Plymouth and District Freshwater Angling Association

The Plymouth and District Freshwater Angling Association fishes for brown trout, sea trout and salmon on the Rivers Plym, Tavy, Cad (the upper Plym), Meavy and Erme, in some of Devon’s most beautiful settings. The association describes its beats as fly fishing and spinning water, and the fishing is all for game fish.

Membership is open. Full membership is £150 a season and covers brown trout, sea trout and salmon, trout membership is £75 and covers brown trout only, and junior membership for ages 10 to 18 is £10. Under 16s fish free with an adult member aged 21 or over. You apply online through the association’s website.

Day tickets are bought online on the day you fish. One ticket covers every beat for 24 hours from 4am, and at the moment they are sold for salmon fishing only, at £20. The association’s rules ask for barbless hooks for trout, knotless nets and a catch return after your session.
