The Plym beat is the association’s long stretch of the River Plym between the parking at Plym Bridge and Bickleigh. The association describes it as beautiful, easily accessible water, with sea trout on the fly at night and sea trout and salmon on artificial lure after a spate, and quiet corners along its length. Its map names pools including Bridge Pool, Chumley’s Pool, Viaduct Pool, Weir Pool, Happy Valley and the Hot Spot.

Membership gives all the association’s fishing. Day tickets are bought online on the day you fish, cover every beat for 24 hours from 4am, and are at the moment sold for salmon at £20. Fishing on National Trust water is catch and release only. On the Plym that applies between Plym Bridge and the G Spot.
