About Draycote Water

Draycote Water is a large reservoir near Rugby in Warwickshire, run as a trout fishery by Anglian Water Parks and fished from both bank and boat for rainbow and brown trout. The 2026 season runs from 7 March 2026 to 31 January 2027.

Day permits cover eight fish plus catch and release, four fish plus catch and release, or a zero-kill sporting permit on barbless flies. A senior citizen permit at the four-fish price allows six fish plus catch and release. Season permits are sold in four grades, from the zero-kill Sporting permit up to Gold. All brown trout must be returned alive.

Boats can be hired by the day, half day or after 6pm, and there is a wheelyboat for Blue Badge holders. Dogs are not permitted, bank or boat. The site is locked until 7.30am and the tackle shop opens from 8am to 2pm; permits can also be booked online. Parking is included for anyone fishing with a valid permit, and the Waterside Restaurant sits above the Fishing Lodge.
