About Leighton Fly Fishing

Leighton Fly Fishing runs the day ticket trout fishing on Leighton Reservoir, a 90 acre reservoir on the Swinton Estate above Masham in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire. The reservoir is owned by Yorkshire Water, with the fishing rights held by the Swinton Estate, and day to day stocking and ticket sales run by Swinton Trout Farm, the same family business that also runs Bessy Beck Trout Fishery in Cumbria.

Leighton is stocked with rainbow trout from the nearby Swinton Trout Farm, around 15,000 fish a year, and fishing is fly only from the bank all the way round. Tickets let you keep fish or fish entirely catch and release, with a choice of ticket options available on the day.

The reservoir sits in open moorland dales a few miles from Masham, with wide views across the valley. Check current prices and season dates directly with Swinton Trout Farm before you travel, since this fishery has not published a season list online for some time.
