About Yeaveley Estate

Yeaveley Estate is a private estate near Ashbourne in Derbyshire, better known for shooting and corporate days, but it also keeps a small day ticket fly fishing lake. The one and a half acre lake is described by the estate as perhaps the finest small dry fly lake in Derbyshire, and through summer it comes alive with natural fly life.

Fishing is by day ticket only, £40, payable on the day. The bag limit is three fish to keep, your first three caught, and after that you can carry on catch and release on barbless hooks for up to five more fish. Extra fish can be bought if you want to take more home. There are no concessions, no evening tickets and no catch and release only ticket.

The lake is open from 1 May to 19 September, Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, and closed on Sundays and Mondays. Rods are strictly limited to six a day, so booking ahead is essential, by phone or email. The banks are mown grass, and there is a small lodge to rest in with toilets close by at the main lodge. Tuition can be arranged for individuals, groups or corporate days, and rod hire is available if you ask in advance.
