Frome and District Angling Association’s Vallis Vale water is on the River Mells and the Egford Brook where they run through Vallis Vale, a Site of Special Scientific Interest near Frome. It joins the association’s Mells Estate water upstream.

There is plenty of variety, with deeper glides, fast riffles and small pools, lots of wild brown trout and some surprisingly big ones. The valley is a popular beauty spot with dog walkers, but there are quiet wooded stretches, and evenings, weekdays and rainy days are quieter still.

It is members only, fly only and catch and release.
