Hill Deverill is a beat at the head of the River Wylye, in unspoilt countryside. Fishing Breaks has sold it since 2021, and describes the Wylye as one of the most natural chalk streams, running through a landscape that is still mostly farmland.

It is a mostly wading beat, ideal for one rod or two friends together. Fishing Breaks gives it its highest difficulty rating because the water is wild and shaggy. There is no cabin and dogs are not allowed, but there is a seating and barbecue area beside the productive Hatch Pool.

The Wylye fishes well early in the season, with olive hatches from the opening day in early April, a spectacular hawthorn hatch later in the month, and a small hatch of mayfly most days from May right through to July.
