Fishing methods
Beat 3 is the bottom visitor beat of the Lower Teign Fishing Association, from the sill of Chudleigh Weir down to Teign Bridge, just outside Newton Abbot. Both banks between New Bridge and Preston Iron Footbridge are left out of the ticket. The ticket allows fishing for salmon, sea trout and brown trout from sunrise on the day until sunrise the next morning, and visitors follow the association’s fishing rules. The association publishes a map of each visitor beat on its website.
Unlike beats 1 and 2, tickets for this beat are only issued from 1 May to 31 August, and no more than three are issued for it on any one day. To ask about a ticket, get in touch with the association through its website.
